Looking for some great charcuterie board ideas for your next get-together, then look no more. Being Italian I’ve made lots of antipasto and picky platters for years, but I didn’t own a charcuteries board. So when I received this lovely charcuterie board for Christmas, I was a bit unsure how I was going to fill it up or lay it out. But with two boards to work with, I had lots of space to play around with .

I started with many of our favorite antipasto favorites like prosciutto, provolone, grapes and crackers. I also added in miniature breadsticks, pretzels and Taralli (Italian crackers) for variety. To make it look festive, I rolls some of the spicy salami into rose petals. Although in the photo, I had not yet anchored them with toothpicks yet, so they were starting to unravel, LOL. But, sometimes you just cannot take yourself too seriously.

Also, I love how this charcuteries board came with it’s own serving pieces and cheese knives, along with chalk boards and pencils to label the cheese. It also came with 2 small white ramekins that are ideal for dips, or olives. But since this little baby was traveling, I did not fill the ramekins or unwrap all the crackers until I got to the party.

How to make a charcuterie board that looks both appetizing and interesting:

  • Use a variety of meats, cheeses and crackers that everyone with enjoy.
  • Balance textures and flavors of items.
  • Have a variety of cheeses and cut them into small wedges.
  • Arrange food items in small clusters on the board to make it look fuller.
  • Use fruits that will not wilt fast like grapes, melon or berries.
  • Save time by using premade spreads and dips
  • Use other creative add-ins like nuts or roasted vegetables.
  • If entertaining at home, feel free to replenish your charcuterie board, as food runs out.
