I am fortunate enough to have two outdoor living spaces; a deck and a three-season porch. Good thing, because depending on New England weather, it’s nice to have options.
It’s also great for entertaining as not everyone likes to sit outdoors all day and so there’s always the enclosed porch area. With that said, I freely move my outdoor furniture from one area to the other, depending on what we happen to be doing.
On sunny days when we need more seating on the deck, this works perfectly. But just to show you that I do interchange furniture between the deck and screened-in sun porch, here’s a picture of my furniture being used inside the sun porch.

I wanted the color aqua for my outdoor deck furnishings because the color just reminds me of the beach resort. Even when I’m using the dark tan conversation pit seating outside, by layering those pieces with bright pillows, they work with the color theme.
But my light teal furniture did not start out this color. This metal table and chairs (not shown here), were picked up by my husband at a tag sale for about $45.
The chairs were a dark hunter green and the table looked like someone try to paint it another color. I must say, I hesitated to keep them until he agreed to paint them this color. The color is actually called “Ocean Mist” by Rustoleum.
Shown below are the four chairs that come with the table and were painted to match. Then we added seat cushions from Lowes. And yes they match the ones that we have on our new-used patio bench.

In 2022 my husband did it again and showed up with a hunter-green patio bench that he found at another tag sale. It was just a metal frame without cushions, and so just like the patio table set, we painted it “Ocean Mist” and purchased three high-back cushions for it at Lowes for $39 each. So here is our new-used patio bench, all ready to relax on.

Who doesn’t love to relax and sit back in an outdoor Adirondack chair, while soaking up some sun on the deck or patio? As you can see, I have two aqua blue ones to match our outdoor space, and then there’s this chair.
So, I have to talk about this outdoor Adirondack chair. It’s a chair I won a few years ago at a friend’s Jimmy Buffet-themed picnic, and so we still use it as it has lots of good memories. This is the one thing I add to my outdoor decor with exception as it doesn’t match anything else, but I give it its own little corner on the deck so we enjoy can it!
One of my favorite things about our deck is the stone-look post surrounds that we added to each end of the deck when we built it. It just adds a little more character to the deck without the expense of doing real stonework. Plus they hold up well over the years – even though all of our heavy snow seasons. But I try not to think about that when I’m sitting out here.

I’ve had a pair of outdoor brass swans for a while now, and these cranes are the closest thing I’ve seen that are similar. Brass garden ornaments do get a bit dull and tarnished over the years, but they’re still too pretty to get rid of.
