Easter Table Setting Decor Ideas

The first thing to keep in mind is that setting a beautiful Easter table doesn’t have to be complicated. But there is somewhat of an art to making an Easter tablescape look and feel special. So, let’s get started and dive into some Easter table-setting ideas for your dinner table.

I love to set a decorative Easter table, but I don’t want to spend a lot of money on seasonal holiday decor. So, I start by picking a color scheme, then try to find decor items I already own to fit into my Easter table.

Then I start thinking about how I can add the colors of Spring to my Easter tablescape. Sure, you can add a pretty spring-themed tablecloth, but there’s so much more you can add to your Easter table to reflect the holiday. Consider:

  • Palm crosses or prayer saying place cards and plaques
  • A vase of colorful tulips, lilies, or daffodils
  • Pastel Easter eggs
  • Bunnies, carrots, and chick décor
  • Miniature baskets with straw and jellybeans
  • Pastel placemats or champagne flutes tied with bows

For my Easter table, I chose to use one end of the table for flowers, so that they don’t get in the way of conversation, but could still be appreciated. For the tulips, I simply used a pitcher as a vase and added in some carrots from the fridge.

I also added salt & pepper shakers shaped like cupcakes, a toothpick holder, and an olive dish. The fuzzy bunny rabbit I found at Micheal’s. As a rule, I like pretty and colorful Easter Tablescapes that don’t crowd guests when they sit down to eat.

Also included is a decorative sign that reads, “Pray not because you need something, but because you have a lot to be thankful for”. This is just my way to honor the spiritual meaning of Easter. Sometimes, I also like to add crosses to my Easter flower arrangements. I just change it up throughout the years. I also like to use white dishes, but you can mix and match plates with bright spring colors if you like.

You’ll notice I’ve placed two small ceramic dolls on my table, and I did it only because they are pretty and seem to blend in with the tablescape. Then, I removed the dolls and replaced them with these Easter egg-shaped plates shown in the photo above so that I could serve appetizers while we sipped Prosecco before dinner.

To make it look more like Easter, I added colored plastic eggs to my tablescape and filled them with chocolates to nibble on after dinner. This is easy to do and people love opening them up after dinner to see what’s inside. So you see, everything is pretty, but functional too!

Speaking of Prosecco, one way you can decorate crystal champagne flutes when celebrating is to add a craft ribbon bow around the stem of the glass. You can also use different colors, so everyone knows which glass is theirs.

Below, you’ll see my Easter centerpiece. I used a chick and floral plate with a short pillar candle. I could use tall tapered candles, but like the flowers, I don’t didn’t want anything to obstruct guests from dinner conversation.

Along with using ribbon bows on my glasses, I used some decorative burlap mesh as a table runner for my centerpiece. I like this idea because it’s not as wide as a store-bought table runner so there’s more room at the table. Also, if it gets stained, you can cut off that part and use the rest for crafts, or just toss it out.

When looking for Easter tablescape inspiration, check your china cabinet and cupboards before you decide to go shopping. That’s where I found this tiny pewter bird and spoon to hold salt.

The pewter bird is not something I would use every day, but for holidays, it’s nice to use special things instead of just displaying them.

After the holidays it helps to store all of your Easter-themed items from your tablescape together, so you know what you have next year. I also like to shop for Easter Decor after Easter when it’s on sale and save what I bought for next year.

This Easter, I’m looking forward to the warmer weather and sharing a simple, delicious meal with close family. I am reminded of all the reasons I am blessed and always try to keep those good thoughts at the forefront of my mind.
