Ingredients

Scale

2 to 3 green bell peppers
1-2 red bell peppers (orange or yellow work too)
1 large onion
6 to 8 or more hot Italian sausage links
1/4 cup tomato sauce (optional)
2 TBSP olive oil
Seasonings

Instructions

    1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and chop up the peppers and onion.
    2. Spread the chopped peppers, and onions onto one half of the the sheet pan and place the sausage links onto the other half of the pan.
    3. Drizzle with the sausage and peppers with olive, then sprinkle the peppers and onions with salt, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.  If using a very spicy hot sausage, skip using the pepper.
    4. Cook this for 10 minutes, then remove the pan from the oven, flip the sausages, toss the peppers and onions, and place them back in the oven.
    5. Cook for another 5 minutes and remove the sausages from the oven.
    6. Continue cooking the peppers and onions for another 12 to 15 minutes or until they look tender.
    7. While the peppers and onions continue to cook, slice the sausages into 1/4-inch slices and set aside in a bowl.
    8. When the peppers and onions are done, remove them from the oven and add them to the bowl of sliced sausage.
    9. If you are using tomato sauce, microwave it for around 20 seconds and mix it into the bowl with the sausage and peppers.
    10. Serve warm with Italian bread or hard rolls.
